Good Morning Church! 3/22/2020
Discovery Time: “Guiding Light”
Discovering "Guiding Light!" with Tammie Sibibaldo 3/22/2020
Message: “Unsettled and Disrupted.”
Unsettled and Disrupted" John 14:25-31
25 “I have said these things to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid. 28 You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I am coming to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you this before it occurs, so that when it does occur, you may believe. 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me; 31 but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us be going.” (John 14: 25-31)

Care Plan: How we keep checking-in with each other…
How are your check-ins going? So far we have had good feed back of relationships being made and folks being cared for. Drop me a line to let me know how you are doing/how things are going – Tammie
Please check-in with each other at least once a week – that can be phone, email, text – however folks want to communicate.I ask that those groups please check-in with their assigned council member so we can best respond. – PGS
Goals of doing this include:
BUILD COMMUNITY – especially if we can’t be together for worship for a few or multiple weeks – it will connect us in direct ways of caring. This is about being the body of Christ.
CONNECT COMMUNITY – one of the realities of 21st century life in general is the fast pace and multiple spaces we find ourselves – this will help us live together even though apart so nobody slips through the cracks.
SHARE COMMUNITY – one of the things I’ve learned and have been thinking about a lot since I joined the fire department is there is a clear chain of command and span of control (where no one is in charge of more than a few people) even in an organization of 90 or so people. Sharing leadership and having direct lines of communication and relationship will make us a much better organization than 130+ households directly reporting to me. This is how the big churches actually do it – and how they grow. Small care groups, direct ministry, shared leadership, and a clear mission.
There will be some growing pains and kinks to get out as we learn how to do this, but sometimes a crisis can create the catalyst for change that will make an organization stronger. I believe we are in a great position to do this, and do it well – and with your help we can get there.
This will be a challenging time as we respond to the covid-19 pandemic. Yet I believe it is also a wonderful opportunity to care for one another and ultimately (God willing) become a stronger church.
Thanks in advance for your faithfulness.

Recently I began sending an online family devotion called Faith At Home to our church families. It includes a specific devotion for Adult & Small Child, Adult & Elementary, Adult & Youth and Adult & Adult, so there is something for everyone.
Maybe YOU have been wanting to start something and just didn’t know how or when or what. Whatever the case, here is a springboard for you that you could incorporate.
Be well church family. Get your rest, drink water, eat your veggies and continue to wash those hands!
Remember God loves you exactly the way you are – Tammie
